HONG KONG – October 10, 2025 – Open BIM (HK) Ltd., the distributor of Graphisoft in Hong Kong, was proud to co-organize a highly informative Continuing Professional Development (CPD) seminar for the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA). The event, held on October 10, 2025, was a resounding success, attracting architects, designers, and industry professionals eager to delve into the future of digital building design.
A central highlight of the seminar was the showcase of Archicad 29, officially launched on October 7, 2025, just days before the event. This timely presentation offered attendees a first look at one of the most significant updates in the software’s history. Furthermore, the event provided a glimpse into the future of cloud-based design with an exclusive preview of Project Aurora.
The seminar provided an in-depth exploration of Archicad 29’s new capabilities, which are designed to deliver the “Best Design Experience”. Key features discussed included:
Graphisoft AI Assistant: A pivotal new technology, this smart design partner is embedded directly into the software. It provides intelligent prompts, model queries, and step-by-step guidance, helping users of all levels navigate features and streamline workflows without ever leaving Archicad.
MEP Designer: A fully integrated solution that brings intuitive MEP modeling into the Archicad environment. This tool enables engineers to create accurate system layouts, generate detailed documentation automatically, and ensure smooth collaboration within a unified BIM model.
Enhanced Productivity Tools: The session covered numerous workflow improvements, such as the ability to quickly rotate elements by 90° with a shortcut, directly input openings in sections and elevations, and filter unused views for cleaner project management.
A particularly exciting segment of the seminar was dedicated to Project Aurora, Graphisoft’s industry initiative for a cloud-based design and collaboration platform. Attendees learned how this visionary project aims to democratize design by making BIM capabilities accessible through a web browser, facilitating effortless real-time collaboration between architects, clients, and consultants from the earliest conceptual stages.
The preview highlighted its potential to streamline early-phase design, enhance client engagement through instant visualizations, and create a seamless bridge to the detailed development phase in Archicad.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Hong Kong Institute of Architects for organizing the event, and all the participants for their engaged and insightful contributions.
We are committed to continuing this momentum and look forward to hosting more educational events to help the local industry harness the power of AI, integrated BIM, and the upcoming cloud-based paradigm.
